Fluorescent Penetrant Testing (FPT) is another type of penetrant testing, similar to Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT). Both methods are used to detect surface-breaking defects in a wide range of materials. However, there are some key differences between the two. Here are some advantages of FPT compared to DPT:

  1. Increased sensitivity: FPT has higher sensitivity compared to DPT, allowing for the detection of smaller defects that might be missed by DPT.
  2. Improved visualization: FPT uses a UV light source to illuminate the material being tested, which enhances the visualization of defects compared to DPT. This makes it easier for the inspector to identify defects and reduces the chance of missed defects.
  3. Faster inspection: FPT typically requires less time for the inspection process compared to DPT, as the visualization of defects is improved.
  4. Better portability: FPT systems are usually smaller and more portable compared to DPT systems, making it easier to perform inspections on-site.
    Overall, while both DPT and FPT have their advantages, FPT is generally considered to be more sensitive, easier to use, and more efficient compared to DPT. 

NEO GLO have been proved to be reliable penetrants under honor of authentication awarded by: U.S. Air Force, Japan Air Self Defense Force, Aircraft manufacturers in U.S. and U.K., etc. Their scope has been extended to inspections for automobile components, new materials, semiconductors, and rocket parts.
